Ethan Thompson, a 27-year-old guard, will continue with the Indiana Pacers on a two-way contract, after exceeding expectations in his rookie season in 2025-26. Thompson played 32 games with Indiana, averaging 20.4 minutes, 7.0 points, and 2.2 rebounds per game. He confirmed his contract situation during a practice with the Puerto Rico National Team, stating he is under a two-year, two-way contract.
Thompson, who went undrafted in the 2021 NBA draft, developed his skills in the G-League before joining the Pacers. He expressed gratitude to the team for the opportunity and credited his preparation in the G-League for his success. Thompson will now represent Puerto Rico in the FIBA qualifying window in Canada and the Bahamas, alongside other NBA players José Alvarado and Enrique Freeman.
He believes he returns to the team with greater maturity on and off the court.
