The Chihuahua Foundation raised $25,500 during its fifth annual golf tournament, held on July 2 at Palmas Athletic Club in Humacao, Puerto Rico. The proceeds will go to the Asociación Puertorriqueña de Sordos y Sordos-Ciegos (APSSC) to support educational events, training workshops, and community projects focused on accessibility and inclusion for the deaf and deafblind communities. This is the foundation's largest annual total since it began raising money through the event in 2022, exceeding its initial $8,000.

Alejandro Meléndez, president of Chihuahua Foundation, expressed gratitude for the support, stating that the funds demonstrate the generosity of the golf community and sponsors. Víctor Luis Gastón, vice president of APSSC, said the donation will be used to develop workshops and educational events to facilitate the adaptation and integration of deaf and deafblind people into society. The organization also plans to educate the public on inclusion and accessibility, emphasizing that hearing loss does not limit abilities, but a lack of accessibility does.

The foundation's efforts aim to support Puerto Rico's approximately 200,000 people with some degree of hearing loss.
