Puerto Rico ranks first globally in employers' intention to hire employees for the July to September period, according to ManpowerGroup's Employment Outlook Survey. Melissa Rivera Roena, General Manager of ManpowerGroup Puerto Rico, announced that among 42 destinations surveyed, Puerto Rico achieved a net employment trend of 48% for the third quarter, tied with India and followed by the United States with 45%.
The survey found that 60% of employers in Puerto Rico plan to increase their workforce, 25% will make no changes, 12% plan to reduce staff, and 3% are unsure. The manufacturing sector has the highest hiring intention at 78%, while the information sector shows the greatest growth.
Rivera Roena noted that Puerto Rico's hiring expectation has increased by 30% compared to the same period last year and 16% compared to the second quarter of this year. The global average hiring expectation is 26%, with Slovakia, Hong Kong, and Romania having the lowest expectations at -6%, -9%, and -12%, respectively.
