Puerto Rican actor and composer Lin-Manuel Miranda confirmed that he rejected the opportunity to play the villain 'Vulture' in the movie 'Spider-Man: Homecoming', a role that ultimately went to Michael Keaton. In an interview on the 'Happy Sad Confused' podcast, Miranda explained that he considered himself not suitable for the character and believed it would have been a bad fit. He recalled a conversation with Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige, who explained the film's plot over the phone.

After learning the project's details, Miranda asked when filming would start and was told it would begin soon after his participation in Hamilton ended. Miranda joked that he couldn't accept the role because he wanted to stay married. Looking back, he believes rejecting the role was the correct decision, saying 'it would have been terrible'.

The film, released in 2017, marked Tom Holland's first solo outing as the superhero in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
