At Eco's Park in Hato Rey, Spanish fans dominated the atmosphere during the World Cup 2026 semifinal match between Spain and France, celebrating a 2-0 victory. The crowd turned into a Spanish territory from the 23rd minute when Mikel Oyarzabal scored a penalty.

Dani Gutiérrez, a Spanish fan from Santander, and his sister María, who were on vacation in Puerto Rico with their relatives Sonia Hernáiz and Miguel Gómez, expressed confidence in Spain's win, recalling their previous victory over France in the Eurocopa 2024. French fans, including Evelyn Rosado, who supported Kylian Mbappé, were less vocal, and many declined interviews.

The Spanish fans' confidence increased with Pedro Porro's second goal, making the score 2-0 before halftime. María Gutiérrez said they were more optimistic after seeing their team score, and the atmosphere turned into a celebration.
