Frontier Airlines will launch daily nonstop service between San Juan's Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport (SJU) and George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) in Houston starting Dec. 17, expanding Frontier's destinations from San Juan to 21. Introductory one-way fares start at $99, with tickets required to be purchased by July 20, subject to travel dates, blackout periods and other restrictions. Josh Flyr, Frontier's vice president of network and operations design, said the expansion ensures low-cost travel options for tourists visiting Puerto Rico and locals flying to Texas or beyond.

Frontier is also expanding its UpFront Plus seating, offering extra legroom and a guaranteed empty middle seat in the first two rows, and plans to introduce first-class seating in 2026. Its Frontier Miles program lets customers pool miles and offers qualifying members priority boarding, seat selection and free checked bags. Separately, Frontier announced it will install Starlink satellite internet on its planes, with the first equipped aircraft entering service in early 2027.

CEO Jimmy Dempsey said Starlink will let customers work, stream and browse throughout flights. Frontier, along with Wizz Air, Volaris, JetSMART and Cebu Pacific—fellow Indigo Partners airlines—expect to install Starlink on more than 1,000 aircraft worldwide.
