LUMA to Conduct Power Maintenance Work in 14 Puerto Rico Municipalities Wednesday

LUMA Energy announced it will carry out maintenance and improvement work on the electrical system this Wednesday in 14 Puerto Rico municipalities as part of efforts to strengthen the grid and increase service reliability. The work includes replacement and repair of power lines and equipment, maintenance of the underground system, removal of hazardous vegetation, customer-requested work, and pole resiliency projects. Pole resiliency work will occur in Bayamón, Guaynabo, Humacao, Juana Díaz, Trujillo Alto, and Manatí.

Line and equipment replacement/repair will take place in Caguas, Canóvanas, and Guayama. Underground system repair and maintenance is scheduled in Carolina. Customer-requested work will be done in Bayamón, Coamo, and San Juan.

Hazardous vegetation removal is planned in Maunabo, San Juan, and Utuado. LUMA advised residents in these areas to stay alert for updates on the scheduled work, noting that temporary power interruptions could occur during the labor. The company also reminded the public that the maintenance schedule may change depending on weather conditions or operational needs of the electrical grid.
