Jean Peña Payano, Secretary of Public Affairs for La Fortaleza, said Sunday that Governor Jenniffer Aydin González Colón will meet with Secretary of the Governance Francisco Domenech Fernández and Deputy Secretary Itza García Rodríguez upon her return from a personal trip. Peña Payano said the meeting will be held "as soon as she is in Puerto Rico" to evaluate next steps and ensure the matter does not distract from her administration’s work.
He said he had no additional details about the meeting but emphasized there would be "no impunity for anyone" and that all allegations must be investigated. He added that the governor herself, within her powers as chief executive, will announce next steps regarding pending cases, investigations, and appointments. On Friday, the Office of the Independent Special Prosecutor Panel (FEI) accepted a request from special independent prosecutors Fabiola Acarón Porrata-Doria and Ileana Agudo Calderón to expand an investigation related to a case.
