An 82-year-old man, Abraham Guzmán Torres, died after being swept away by currents in Toa Baja. The incident occurred at the Punta Salinas beach, where Guzmán Torres was rescued from the water and received first aid from Emergency Medical Management personnel.
He was transported to a local hospital, where a doctor confirmed the absence of vital signs. Agent Kayshlanis Ríos from the Levittown Precinct conducted a preliminary investigation and referred the case to the Homicide Division of the Bayamón Criminal Investigations Corps, which took over the investigation.
The incident was reported to the police through a 9-1-1 emergency call.
