Model Yillian Atkinson accused Puerto Rican singer Ozuna (Jan Carlos Ozuna) of physical violence during what she says was a romantic relationship. Via Instagram Stories, Atkinson shared messages she says she received from the reggaeton artist and held him responsible for her safety, also posting photos of herself with him and images of alleged injuries.

One message, cited by Univision, read: "Never meet your idols. After I put up with his nonsense, he would hit me and abuse me verbally." She also wrote, "He mistreats women," tagging Ozuna's Instagram handle alongside the photos.
In screenshots of what she said was a conversation with her former partner, both exchanged "I love you" messages; Atkinson said, "He loved me but he'd beat me with his fists every two weeks." Another message read: "I told you clearly to leave me alone and not link yourself to me because I respected you, but if you want to mess around, let's go." Following the accusations, Atkinson said she feared for her safety, warning: "If something happens to me, it was Jan Carlos Ozuna." As of publication, Ozuna had not issued any statement in response.
