The Department of Education (DEPR) recognized 18 students from public schools as winners and finalists of the first Literary Contest 'Había una vez en Puerto Rico' (Once Upon a Time in Puerto Rico). The initiative, promoted by the DEPR, the Multisectoral Coalition for Reading ¡Todos a Leer!, and the General Consulate of Spain in Puerto Rico, aims to promote reading and creative writing among students.
The contest is part of an effort to foster a love for literature and writing in public school students.
