The Teatro Repertorio of the University of Puerto Rico (UPR) will stage 'Vientres de Tierra', a play starring Jacqueline Duprey and Mariana Quiles, from September 9 to 13, 2026, at the UPR Theater in Río Piedras. Written by Yarel Padilla and directed by Jorge Rodulfo, this production marks a milestone for the Teatro Repertorio as the first written and presented by a graduate of the UPR's Drama Department. The play brings together professors, alumni, and students on stage, creating an intergenerational encounter.

The story takes place in a cemetery where two mothers meet at their children's graves, and their stories intertwine in a profound conversation about guilt, love, and pain. The cast and creative team include professor Nicolás Luzzi, students Alanis Manzano, Yohjan Batista, and Emilio García Canetti, and alumni Jorge Alexander, Soraya Rodríguez-Ema, Amnerys Quiñones, and Skylar Agosto. According to Rafael Chaves Otero, executive director of the Teatro UPR, the play fosters a dialogue between professional experience, university training, and new voices in Puerto Rican theater.

The rectora interina, Dr. Mayra B, expressed pride in the Teatro Repertorio's mission as a space for creation, training, and encounter, where experience and new talent converge.
