First Attack 2026, an esports event, will take place at the Puerto Rico Convention Center in San Juan from October 2-4, attracting competitive gamers from over 15 countries, including Japan, South Korea, and Canada. The event will be part of major international fighting game circuits, such as the TEKKEN World Tour and ARC World Tour.
According to Yafed 'Tiburón' Marrero, producer and host of the event, the international dimension creates an opportunity to develop a new branch of specialized tourism in Puerto Rico, as gamers will not only compete but also experience the island's culture, gastronomy, and attractions. The event seeks to leverage Puerto Rico's unique combination of high-level competition and Caribbean tourism experience, offering visitors the chance to enjoy the island's beaches, entertainment, and cultural attractions before or after the competition.
