Teen Challenge Puerto Rico has formalized an alliance with the Puerto Rico Government's Community-Based Office to expand efforts targeting individuals facing substance use disorders and homelessness. The agreement aims to establish collaboration spaces between organizations working with these populations to strengthen prevention, guidance, recovery, and social support initiatives. The partnership includes the Centro de Bendición, led by Dr. Diego Willmore, and the Tu Crece program, directed by Dr. Harry Carrillo.
As part of this collaboration, Teen Challenge Puerto Rico announced the 'Regálame una noche' activity, scheduled for December 2, to raise awareness about the reality of homelessness and honor those who have died on the streets. Participants will symbolically experience some of the conditions faced by homeless individuals, including sleeping in cardboard boxes as a gesture of solidarity.
Saving Life Drug Free Community Coalition will also participate in the activity. According to Dr. Israel Figueroa Pastrana, CEO of Teen Challenge Puerto Rico, this initiative recognizes the importance of providing intervention, guidance, and support to vulnerable individuals.
