The Baloncesto Superior Nacional (BSN) announced on Wednesday that the 2027 season will start on Saturday, March 20. Each team will play 34 games, after initially announcing a reduction of two games. The 2026 season began on March 21.
The BSN did not provide additional details on the end date of the season or the postseason. The decision was made during the first ordinary meeting of the board of directors during the offseason. The board also voted against a request from owner Dion New to move the Indios de Mayagüez to Isabela.
The league has activated its gender violence protocol after the arrest of José Manuel Baeza, owner of the Capitanes de Arecibo, on charges related to Law 54. He is scheduled to appear in court on October 5. The Vaqueros de Bayamón won the championship on August 23 for the second consecutive year, defeating the Santeros de Aguada in seven games.
