Fraud Investigation Underway Against Elderly Woman's Engine Repair Payment

Published Sep 30, 2026 · via NotiUno

The Puerto Rico Police investigated a fraud complaint reported by an 85-year-old woman from the Vistamar Bahía urbanization in Carolina. She alleged that she had a verbal agreement with an individual to repair her Subaru Outback's engine for $840, with the work to be completed within a week. However, after the agreed-upon term passed, she was unable to contact the individual, leading her to feel defrauded.

The Police agents from the Carolina Norte and Oeste Precinct are handling the case. The woman had paid the $840 on August 7, 2026, and the individual had promised to complete the work within a week.
