Personnel of the Puerto Rico Police Bureau’s Bayamón Area joined during October the campaign "Te quiero en mi futuro" of the American Cancer Society of Puerto Rico, in commemoration of International Breast Cancer Awareness Day, marked each October 19. Officers from different districts, precincts and units of the Bayamón Area wore shirts promoting the campaign as a show of support, carrying a message about the importance of health care, prevention and early detection of the disease.

The Bayamón Area’s Community Relations Division held a commemorative activity this Monday, October 19, in which it handed out pink ribbons to police personnel as a symbol of solidarity with people facing breast cancer and their families. The campaign seeks to prompt residents to reflect on the importance of caring for their health and being present in the lives of their loved ones, and highlights that early detection through recommended medical tests can make a significant difference in breast cancer diagnosis and treatment.

The Puerto Rico Police Bureau said the activities reaffirm its commitment to supporting awareness efforts and promoting a culture of prevention, self-care and solidarity among its personnel and the public.
