Prosecutor Naylimar Arroyo Colón filed criminal charges against Azael Carrucini Torres, 20, of Comerío, for first-degree murder, violation of arms laws, and possession of controlled substances. The investigation by Agent Ángel Torres Romero of the Homicide Division of the CIC in Aibonito found that Carrucini Torres shot and killed Jan José 'Junki' Fuentes Guzmán, 27, of Aguas Buenas, after a dispute over controlled substances on Father's Day at 1:25 a.m. in the La Mora sector of the Piñas neighborhood in Comerío.
Fuentes Guzmán died from gunshot wounds. Judge Cynthia Vázquez of the Virtual Tribunal determined there was cause for arrest and set a $2,005,000 bail.
Carrucini Torres was jailed at the Las Cucharas Correctional Complex in Ponce after failing to post bail. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for July 3.
