The Cangrejeros de Santurce defeated the Gigantes de Carolina/Canóvanas 96-95 on Monday, maintaining a two-game lead in the fourth position of the Baloncesto Superior Nacional (BSN) Conference A. Santurce now has a 16-15 record and is ahead of the Mets de Guaynabo, who are still fighting for a playoff spot. The win also allowed Santurce to dominate the season series against the Gigantes 4-2.
The Gigantes remain in third place with a 17-14 record, one game ahead of Santurce. Kenneth Faried debuted with 23 points and 14 rebounds for Santurce, while Jaylen Nowell led the Gigantes with 28 points. In another game, the Criollos de Caguas defeated the Indios de Mayagüez 114-86, improving their record to 19-12 and staying close to the conference leaders.
Moses Brown led the Criollos with 22 points and 10 rebounds, while Tyrell Harrison had 21 points and 12 rebounds for the Indios.
