The National Gallery of Art has acquired nearly 50 works of contemporary Pan-American art from the Berezdivin Collection, including pieces by Puerto Rican artists Chemi Rosado Seijo, Rafael Ferrer, Jesús 'Bubu' Negrón, and José Morales, as well as the Puerto Rico-based duo Allora & Calzadilla. The collection also features works by artists from Cuba, Venezuela, Peru, Mexico, Guatemala, Brazil, and Costa Rica.

According to Carmen Ramos, Chief Curator and Conservator of the museum, the donation is 'very important' and will help create new stories and grow the museum's collection of Latin American and American art. The Berezdivin family, owners of the Kress stores and a gallery in Santurce, have been instrumental in promoting Latin American artists, particularly from Puerto Rico and Cuba.

The acquired works include pieces by artists new to the National Gallery of Art's collection, such as Rosado Seijo's El Cerro (2001-2003) and Ferrer's Trilogía de la Noche II, Pedro Fermín (papón). The museum's director, Kaywin Feldman, expressed gratitude to the Berezdivin family for their generosity and vision in assembling a collection that reflects the richness and complexity of contemporary artistic production in Latin America and the Caribbean.
