Adrián del Castillo hit a three-run home run in the first inning, helping the Arizona Diamondbacks defeat the Milwaukee Brewers 4-3 on Saturday. Merrill Kelly earned his first win in seven starts, pitching five innings and allowing eight hits, two walks, and two runs, while striking out six. Christian Yelich hit his sixth home run of the season in the fifth inning.
Paul Sewald closed the game, earning his 20th save in 21 opportunities, despite allowing a home run to Jackson Chourio. The Brewers' starter, Brandon Woodruff, left the game in the fourth inning due to an apparent injury, after throwing a 3-2 pitch to strike out Del Castillo. Woodruff had just returned from the injured list with a right shoulder inflammation.
The Diamondbacks improved to 45-45, despite being out-hit 12-4, while the Brewers saw their six-game winning streak on the road come to an end.
