Realty of America has launched operations in Puerto Rico as its first step in expanding across Latin America with a bilingual real estate platform. According to Eddie García, the company's chief executive, Puerto Rico was chosen because it allows the company to expand within a U.S. jurisdiction while adapting to Spanish-speaking markets. García stated that launching in Puerto Rico enables the company to build the necessary infrastructure, including translating forms, websites, and training systems, before entering other Latin American markets.
Aixa Malavé has been appointed to lead the company's expansion in Puerto Rico, leveraging her over two decades of experience in the island's real estate industry. Realty of America aims to grow to 1,000 agents on the island within three years and hopes to close its first transaction this month. The company may also hire 30 to 50 corporate staff members in Puerto Rico if it meets its growth targets.
Realty of America will utilize the same technology platform in Puerto Rico that it uses in its U.S. markets.
