Angélica M. Andújar Crespo, a 23-year-old resident of San Lorenzo, has been charged with elder abuse, illegal use or possession of credit and debit cards, and aggravated unlawful appropriation.
According to a complaint filed by an elderly woman, Andújar Crespo entered her home on June 9 after providing transportation to a medical appointment through a private company. Once inside, Andújar Crespo asked for a bottle of water and allegedly stole a wallet containing identification, debit cards, and credit cards from the elderly woman's purse.
Judge Keishla Torres of the Caguas Tribunal determined there was cause for arrest and set a $9,000 bail, which Andújar Crespo did not pay, resulting in her being booked and admitted to the Bayamón Women's Rehabilitation Complex.
