Man Arrested for Allegedly Threatening Partner with Machete

Reynaldo 'Cano' Martell Cardona, a 37-year-old resident of Moca, turned himself in to authorities at the Aguadilla Tribunal due to an outstanding arrest warrant with a $100,000 bond. The warrant was issued for violating Articles 3.1, 3.2, and 3.3 of the Law for the Prevention and Intervention of Domestic Violence, as well as carrying and using a white weapon.

According to the investigation, on May 22, Martell Cardona made insulting and denigrating comments about his partner's physical appearance and then threatened to kill her with a machete, causing her to fear for her life and alert the police. Judge Orlando Avilés Santiago ordered Martell Cardona's arrest and incarceration at the Bayamón Correctional Complex, with a preliminary hearing set for July 22.

The arrest warrant was served by Agent Frank López Ortiz of the Aguadilla Division of Intelligence and Arrests.
