The federal Prosecutor's Office in Puerto Rico announced that FBI agents arrested Gabriel Alfonso Núñez Robles, 35, of Toa Alta, on July 7, on charges of child exploitation, cyberstalking, and internet threats. Authorities allege that between February and May 2026, Núñez Robles received, distributed, and transported child pornography using a cell phone, and that his device contained images of a preadolescent minor under age 12.
He is also accused of cyberstalking a minor between 11 and 16 years old, as well as harassing an adult woman online from about 2016 until April 2026, including sending her a threatening message via a messaging app. If convicted, he faces a mandatory minimum of five years and up to 20 years for receiving, distributing, and transporting child sexual abuse material, up to 20 years for possession of such material, up to 10 years for cyberstalking a minor, up to five years for cyberstalking an adult, and up to five additional years for the interstate threats charge, plus supervised release after any prison term.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Emelina Agrait Barreto, of the Unit for Crimes Against Children, Human Trafficking, and Immigration, is prosecuting the case, with the FBI leading the investigation.
