Miguel A. Acevedo Arroyo, a 44-year-old resident of Manatí, was charged with fraud and identity theft after an investigation by the Arecibo area's Criminal Investigations Corps. The investigation found that between May 28 and June 10, 2025, Acevedo allegedly used his employer's account numbers, Agregados Piedra Blancas Inc., to pay off his credit card debts without authorization, totaling $1,523.26.
Prosecutor Israel Chico Moya presented the evidence to Judge Rafael I. Lugo Morales, who determined there was cause for arrest and set a $40,000 bond, which was deferred by the Pre-Trial Services Program. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for July 23.
The investigation was led by Agent Carlos Rodríguez Rivera under the supervision of Sergeant Jonathan Rodríguez Pérez.
