In an interagency operation, authorities arrested a man, seized drugs, arms, and money, and issued fines to several businesses for non-compliance with gambling regulations. The operation, carried out by the Puerto Rico Police, the Games Commission, and the Department of Treasury, targeted businesses in Loíza, Canóvanas, and Trujillo Alto. In Loíza, a man was arrested near Supermercado El Criollazo for violating the Arms and Controlled Substances Law, and a Glock pistol, marijuana, and $260 in cash were seized.
A Toyota Corolla was also confiscated. In Trujillo Alto, the establishment La Gringa Kitchen was fined $2,000 by the Department of Treasury and $50,000 by the Games Commission for irregularities in gambling machines. Other businesses, such as La Nueva Estrella Sport Bar and Los Picapiedra, were found to be in compliance.
The operation involved the Carolina Motorized Unit, the Aibonito and Humacao Drug Divisions, and the K-9 Unit.
