Federal Agents Seize $12,272 in Cash and Drugs in Ponce Operation

Puerto Rico police reported Saturday that a federal operation in the El Yeso sector of Barrio Mayor Cantera in Ponce resulted in the seizure of $12,272 in cash along with other evidence linked to illicit activity. The operation, carried out Friday night, was led by the Homeland Security Investigations office (HSI) in San Juan, working jointly with the U.S.

Marshals Service in Ponce. Authorities also seized one kilogram of cocaine, a Mini Draco rifle, ammunition, magazines, drug paraphernalia, and an unspecified quantity of packaged drugs.

The evidence was reviewed with the prosecutor on duty, who ordered it be seized as part of the ongoing investigation. As of the report, authorities had not announced any arrests connected to the intervention nor disclosed further details about the investigation.
