An 18-year-old man, Raymond J. Andino López, faces criminal charges for alleged violations of the Arms Law and the Penal Code after a police intervention at the Plaza del Sol shopping center in Bayamón. According to authorities, Andino López was stopped while driving a 2024 Fengyun Tank motorcycle without required safety equipment.
When instructed by agents, he allegedly fled, leading to a pursuit that ended on PR-167, where he abandoned the motorcycle and continued on foot. Police found a package containing a 9mm Glock 19 pistol, two chargers, and 41 rounds of ammunition, for which Andino López allegedly had no license. $217 in cash and the vehicle were also seized. Andino López was charged with violations of the Arms Law and obstruction of public authority, and was released on $20,000 bail.
The case was presented to Judge Juan Portell of the Bayamón Tribunal, who set a preliminary hearing.
