Liberty and Liberty Foundation have launched a month-long school supply drive to support five nonprofit organizations in Puerto Rico. The drive, which runs through July 31, aims to collect new school supplies such as pencils, notebooks, and crayons to help the organizations prepare for the upcoming academic year.

Donations will be accepted at participating Liberty stores across the island. The organizations that will benefit from the drive are Casita Familiar Virgilio Dávila in Bayamón, Centro ESPIBI in Mayagüez, Centros Sor Isolina Ferré in Ponce, Proyecto PECES in Humacao, and Niños de Nueva Esperanza in Toa Baja.

According to Giovanna Ramírez de Arellano, Liberty's senior director of communications and corporate responsibility and president of Liberty Foundation, the effort is timed to coincide with the back-to-school season and Puerto Rico's sales-tax-free weekend on July 17 and 18. Yadira Valdivia, executive director of Liberty Foundation, noted that the foundation has worked with these organizations for several years and sees the importance of supporting their educational programs, which benefit hundreds of children and families across the island.
