Judge Beatriz Varela Ríos of the Carolina Court found probable cause for arrest against Rafael Carmona Cruz, 64, for allegedly attacking an elderly person with a pipe on July 12. According to the investigation, Carmona Cruz caused serious injuries requiring medical attention to the victim.
He was charged with attempted murder, abuse of an elderly person, and carrying and using a bladed weapon. Bail was set at $200,000, which he did not post, resulting in his admission to Penal Institution 705 at the Bayamón Correctional Complex.
