Judge Juan G. Portell Maldonado of the Bayamón Court of First Instance determined cause for arrest against Emanuel Santiago Méndez, 33, for aggravated illegal appropriation and disposing of stolen goods.
According to the investigation by Agent Jessica Rosa Álamo of the Bayamón Criminal Investigations Corps, on March 20, Santiago Méndez allegedly climbed into a residence in the Villas del Río urbanization in Bayamón and stole gold items valued at $13,320. He then sold the items to a pawn shop, where he was discovered.
The case was consulted with Prosecutor Jennifer Reyes Martínez, who filed the charges. The defendant was released on a $75,000 bond, and a preliminary hearing is set for July 28.
