Puerto Rico Police reported that Diamond Luis Toledo Morales, 26, a Ponce resident, faces charges of first-degree murder, attempted murder, and multiple weapons law violations for the killing of a woman in Yauco last February. According to the investigation by the Homicide Division of the Ponce Criminal Investigation Corps, the incident occurred on February 18, 2026, around 4:53 a.m., after a call reported gunshots on Route PR-359 at the entrance to Barrio Cambalache. Officers found the body of Alma Daliz Torres Nazario, 40, inside a blue 1994 Toyota Tercel, with multiple gunshot wounds.

Investigators say Torres Nazario was driving with other passengers when Toledo Morales allegedly approached in another moving vehicle and opened fire, killing her. Judge Sostycelie Galarza Quiñones of the Ponce Court found cause for arrest on all charges and set a combined bail of $6.4 million on Tuesday. Toledo Morales did not post bail and was booked at Las Cucharas prison in Ponce.

A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for July 28. The case was investigated by Agent Héctor Cappas Mateo, who consulted with prosecutor Limarie Cobián.
