An elderly man died and another was injured after falling from the roof of a residence in the Reparto Llanadas urbanization in Barceloneta on Tuesday afternoon. According to the police report, 75-year-old Joaquín Ortiz Aponte and 87-year-old Manuel Cruz Rosa were trying to lower a cistern when they fell to the ground.
Both men were taken to a hospital in the Manatí area, where Ortiz was treated for contusions and lacerations, while Cruz suffered severe injuries and later died while receiving medical attention. The investigation is being led by Agent Brendaliz Borges De Jesús, assigned to the Barceloneta District, under the supervision of Sergeant Herminio García Álvarez.
