The Gigantes de Carolina-Canóvanas announced the signing of forward Deandre Williams to replace Scottie James in the midst of the 2026 Baloncesto Superior Nacional (BSN) postseason. Williams, 29, joins from Israel's top basketball league, where he averaged 15.2 points and 9.8 rebounds per game with Ironi Kiryat Ata.
He also played in the G-League, averaging 17.5 points and 7.5 rebounds per game with the Delaware Blue Coats. The move aims to boost the team's performance after falling 2-1 in the series against the Vaqueros de Bayamón, with James scoring only nine points in three games with a 20% field goal percentage.
Williams will debut with the Gigantes on Wednesday night against the Vaqueros at the Coliseo Carlos Miguel Mangual in Canóvanas at 8:00 p.m.
