Puerto Rico Police officers assigned to the Río Piedras Precinct responded around 5:07 p.m. to a homicide in front of building 43 of the Residencial del Prado in Río Piedras. A call to the 9-1-1 Emergency System reported gunshots and a person shot at the scene.
Upon arriving, officers found the body of a man with no vital signs in the parking area, shot to death. The victim has not been identified and is being treated as a "John Doe." Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the killing.
Agent Miguel Sáez of the Homicide Division of the CIC in San Juan is leading the investigation, alongside on-duty prosecutor María Sofia Cruz Colón.
