A 42-year-old man filed a complaint with the Puerto Rico Police after losing $1,348 to a fraudulent Facebook page that claimed to offer a service to eliminate traffic fines and AutoExpreso fines. The man found the page, 'Borramos tus multas de AutoExpreso y CESCO', on Facebook and made several transactions via ATH Móvil between July 6 and 9, 2026, but the page administrators did not fulfill their promise and did not refund the money.
The incident was reported to the police at 7:30 pm on Tuesday in the Estancias Carmelina urbanization in Trujillo Alto. Agent Arelis Rodríguez, from the Trujillo Alto police district, investigated the complaint and referred it to the Cuerpo de Investigaciones Criminales (CIC) in Carolina for further investigation.
