The civic organization Counsel for Local Progress (Celfi) and over 200 elected or former officials from counties, cities, states, and the US Congress have taken their case to the First Circuit Court of Appeals in Boston. They argue that Puerto Ricans cannot afford to pay one more cent on their electricity bills, directly challenging the bondholders of the Puerto Rico Electric Power Authority (AEE).
The officials are advocating for the interests of Puerto Rico's residents, emphasizing the unaffordability of further increases in electricity costs.
