The Movimiento Independentista Nacional Hostosiano (MINH) stated that a US Department of State report denouncing links between Puerto Rican independentist sectors and the Cuban revolution is an attempt to delegitimize the struggle for self-determination, criminalizing international solidarity. The report, released by the Department of State, alleges that the Cuban government has conducted a campaign to infiltrate the US government, recruit and train American activists, and support left-wing terrorism on US soil.
The MINH copresidency noted that the US government has a history of promoting, financing, or supporting coups, military interventions, and covert operations against governments that respond to the interests and aspirations of their people. The report was released as the Trump administration seeks a change of government in Cuba and has threatened military intervention.
The MINH criticized Secretary of State Marco Rubio, saying he seems unable to distinguish between terrorism and solidarity between peoples with a history of colonialism, intervention, and resistance.
