The Caribbean Astronomy Society reported that a bolide, an especially bright meteor, was captured at 2:29 a.m. on Wednesday towards the north-northwest direction. The educational entity shared images of the event and highlighted that another angle of the recording revealed that the bright phenomenon was accompanied by a second meteor that appeared simultaneously.
The area of the sky towards the north is where the most striking meteors have been observed in recent nights, according to the Caribbean Astronomy Society. In addition to the meteors associated with the constellation of Hercules, which had already been detected recently, observers can notice the presence of other meteor showers with lower activity during the next nights and early mornings, including the Alpha Capricornids, Delta Aquariids, Piscis Austrinids, Eta Eridanids, and the beginning of activity of several Perseid meteors, one of the most famous meteor showers of the year.
