Aibonito Market, a new urban market, will hold its first edition on August 8 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the public plaza. The market, also known as 'El Mercado de la Montaña', aims to strengthen the local economy, promote the consumption of Puerto Rican products, and create a space for families to gather. It will feature local farmers, artisans, producers, and entrepreneurs selling their products.
The market will take place on the second Saturday of each month. Aibonito, known as the City of Flowers, has a rich agricultural tradition, producing orchids, bromelias, and succulents, as well as contributing to the island's aviculture and cultivation of tomatoes and other agricultural products. Isamel Hernández, the event's producer, wants the market to become a meeting point where residents and visitors can support local farmers, artisans, and small businesses while enjoying the town's agricultural and cultural richness.
