One of the typical foods of the municipality is the bacalaíto con pan, a sandwich that can be found at Esencia Boricua, a business located in the Plaza Artesanal. The owner, Efrenllovani Lucca, recently returned to the country and his business was awarded as the best bacalaíto con pan in Peñuelas.
Another popular spot is La Gloria, a bakery and pastry shop famous for its galletas de manteca, which are made daily, with around 3,600 units prepared every day. The owner, Víctor M. Vega Torres, is a fifth-generation proprietor who has maintained the same recipe since the beginning.
Additionally, Sushi Temptation is a restaurant that offers an Asian menu, including mongolian beef, pollo thai, and beef bulgogi, and is owned by Yován Torres, a 25-year-old chef who started the business after losing his job due to the pandemic. The restaurant is known for its handmade products, including salsas and appetizers, and one of its specialties is the Yin Yang Balls, a dish made with thai crab, pan japonés, and aioli.
