Family and friends of Tyler Wilkin, a 35-year-old man from Ohio, are raising funds for a private investigation into his murder, which occurred on July 10 at La Selva beach in Luquillo, Puerto Rico. The GoFundMe campaign, which has increased its goal from $15,000 to $30,000 due to 'extraordinary' donor cooperation, aims to cover the costs of the private investigation. Wilkin's girlfriend, Iva Mo, described him as 'the love of my life' and expressed her hope for answers and justice.
According to preliminary information, a person walking on the beach found Wilkin's body with a head wound. The Cuerpo de Investigaciones Criminales (CIC) is investigating, and Captain Edwin Collazo González stated that they are analyzing Wilkin's phone to understand what happened. Wilkin had been camping alone since July 8, and his friends were scheduled to arrive on the day his body was found.
The investigation has included interviews with people in nearby campsites, who reported seeing a vehicle in the area, although descriptions of the vehicle varied.
