The Cidra reservoir has dropped to 400.20 meters, entering the 'operational adjustment' category, according to the Autoridad de Acueductos y Alcantarillados (AAA). This comes amid a drought affecting Puerto Rico, with the reservoir serving approximately 14,537 clients in the municipalities of Aguas Buenas, Caguas, Cayey, and Cidra.
The USGS reported a steady decline in the reservoir's water level since July 9. The Carraízo reservoir also remains in 'operational adjustment' with a level of 37.88 meters, having lost 55 centimeters since last Monday.
A total of 13 reservoirs registered reductions in their levels, while Matrullas, Guayo, Caonillas, and Guajataca reported increases. The AAA's graphs indicate that the 'control' level would be reached if Carraízo's level falls below 37.00 meters.
