The federal prosecutor's office reported on Wednesday the results of investigations by the Homeland Security Task Force (HSTF) from August 3-7. Several members of a drug trafficking organization operating in public housing projects in Carolina and San Juan, primarily the Sabana Abajo housing project, were sentenced. Ramsell Maldonado Tatis ("R") received 12 years and 5 months on August 5, having pleaded guilty May 12 after being charged in December 2024. Orlando Resto García ("Luli/Potala") got 11 years and 5 months, and William E. Boria Rosa ("Boria") got 6 years and 5 months; both pleaded guilty May 12.
Kevin E. Soto Peña ("Mostri") and Gerald O. Rodríguez Rodríguez ("Patrón") each received 11 years. Carlos A. Delgado Torres ("Peter/Papi/Papá Candela") got 5 years.
Luis R. Pérez Vizcarrondo ("Tío/Raúl") pleaded guilty August 4 to conspiracy to possess controlled substances with intent to distribute, with sentencing set for November 5. In related cases, Christian Maldonado López ("Ninja") was sentenced August 3 to 10 years for participating in an organization operating from the Enrique Zorilla public housing project in Manatí. Giancarlo Alamo Colón received 12 years plus 5 years supervised release for conspiring to possess cocaine, making a false statement to a federal agency, and aggravated identity theft. Edwin Gabriel Vázquez Colón ("Cuco") received 8 years and 7 months.
