Ackerly Cedeño Reaffirms Goal to Represent Puerto Rico in Aerospace Medicine

Ackerly Cedeño recently participated in a program at NASA's Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas, where she took part in astronaut simulations, built robots, and visited historic facilities related to the Apollo missions. The experience not only expanded her knowledge but also confirmed her desire to pursue a career in aerospace medicine.

Cedeño participated in programming and robot-building exercises, as well as underwater training to simulate microgravity conditions. She also met with astronaut Mark Polansky to discuss the physical effects of space travel and her interest in aerospace medicine.

The program strengthened her conviction to pursue a career in health and space exploration, with the aspiration to represent Puerto Rico in this field. Cedeño reflected on the experience, saying it reminded her why she dreams big and wants to represent her island in aerospace medicine.
