The musical production 'A Chorus Line' is returning to Puerto Rico with a local cast, celebrating its 50th anniversary. The production, presented by Casa Productora, will be performed in Spanish at the Sala René Marqués del Centro de Bellas Artes Luis A. Ferré in Santurce, starting on October 2.
The musical has won nine Tony Awards and a Pulitzer Prize. The story, which explores human dreams, fears, and perseverance, will be set in 2026, rather than the original 1975 setting. The cast includes veteran actors Tita Guerrero and Francis Rosas, who will work alongside young talent.
Guerrero and Rosas expressed their excitement about working with the young artists, with Guerrero stating that it's an opportunity to learn from them. The production will feature a mix of experienced and new talent, with Guerrero playing the role of 'Larry' and Rosas playing a character originally portrayed by Michael Douglas. The musical is recognized as one of the most awarded in Broadway history.
