The town of Camuy will prepare 1,500 pounds of mondongo, a traditional dish, for the new edition of its Festival del Mondongazo on August 30. The event will take place in the Pueblo Norte sector of the Pueblo neighborhood, where preparation of the dish will begin at 5:00 a.m. and will be distributed free to attendees.
The festival, which started over 20 years ago as a community initiative, has grown to attract thousands of people and features local food, artisans, and music. This year's event will include performances by Grupo 321, Jíbara Banda, Innovación Musical, and the Sonora Ponceña, as well as El Guitarreño.
The municipality of Camuy, through its Office of Art, Culture, and Tourism, is organizing the event. According to Camuy Mayor Gabriel Hernández Rodríguez, the festival is a beloved tradition that brings families together and benefits local businesses and artisans.
