The Puerto Rico Institute of Culture (ICP) is inviting the public to a free conference titled 'Revestir la fe: Historia, simbolismo y experiencia en la confección de ropa para santos' (Dressing the Faith: History, Symbolism, and Experience in Making Clothes for Saints) at the Porta Coeli Religious Art Museum in San Germán. The conference, scheduled for August 30 at 2:30 p.m., will be led by Melisa Maldonado, who will discuss the history and symbolism of religious image clothing and share her experience making clothes for saints.
This event is part of the 420th anniversary celebration of Porta Coeli's founding in 1606. The ICP is promoting a series of initiatives to disseminate the history and cultural value of this iconic San Germán space.
