Alba Reyes, former Miss Universe Puerto Rico, has fulfilled a promise to her mother by being sworn in as a lawyer in Florida, 15 years after graduating from the University of Puerto Rico School of Law. Reyes shared the moment on social media, dedicating it to her mother, who had urged her to complete the validation process before her passing.
Reyes revealed that her path to admission was marked by a complex evaluation process that lasted over two years, during which she had to defend her character and aptitude to practice law due to allegations made by a third party. Despite facing challenges, Reyes persevered and celebrated her admission as a triumph over adversity.
She thanked Judge Begoña de Jesús, who administered her oath, and her son Noah, who was her primary motivation throughout the process. Reyes also expressed gratitude to her followers for their support and marked the beginning of a new stage in her professional life.
